The Environmental Research Laboratory (EREL) represents one of the largest
scientific teams in Greece dealing with the environment and is part of the Nuclear Technology
& Radiation Protection Institute, one of the
eight Institutes of National Center
for Scientific Research "DEMOKRITOS".
Over the last 15 years, EREL has undertaken many activities, most of them related with
the environment, both at national and international level. The Laboratory has participated
in a significant number of research projects, sponsored by the European Union (DG XII),
State Agencies and by private Industry.
EREL has strong scientific links with other Laboratories in Europe mainly through joint
European Union projects.
Laboratory Profile
Personnel
13 Ph.D. and 5 M.Sc. scientists, 4 Ph.D. students, 1 technician and 1 administrative
assistant.
